A Note from Trish:
While making the Circle Of Friends Square, for a friend, I found that
I really liked how these were made. My problem is that I don't like going
"in the round" so my solution was to use this pattern and make a sampler
square. I did make a couple changes in the pattern. I have contacted the
owner (Priscilla Hewitt) and have her permission to pass this on to all
of you. Thank you Priscilla!!
Supplies:
My sample was made with Red Heart worsted weight, 4 ply yarn and crocheted
with a size G hook.
The pattern:
The website where I found the Circle of Friends Square is Pricilla's
site.
To make the square shown:
The instructions for the 8" square, that I made, using worsted weight
yarn and a size G hook:
Row 1: Ch 33, dc in 4th ch from hook. Dc across to end. Ch 1 turn.Row 2: *Sc in first sp, tr in next sp* across to end, sc in last sp. Ch 3, turn.
Row 3: *Skip the first tr and sc in the next sc, ch 3* repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn.
Row 4: 2 dc in ch 3 sp and 2 dc in each ch 3 sp across. The last ch 3 sp will have 3 dc.
Repeat rows 2-4 until desired size. Ending with row 4.
Review:
I found that the pattern was very well written and easy to follow.
Uses:
A friendship square would be nice to send to the Girl Scouts, for Project
Linus..... just a thought.
